The problem
A youth football school runs training for 40 kids with a paper attendance sheet, a WhatsApp group, and report cards written by hand. Coaches want to spend training time on the pitch, not on admin. Parents want to see how their child is developing.
My role
Product designer and developer. I built a clickable prototype of ten screens so the club could react to something real before any backend exists.
What it does
- Pitch-side attendance for a full squad in one screen, with quick present, permission, sick and absent states
- A 7v7 tactics board following the Indonesian football philosophy (Filanesia), with a fair-play minutes calculator for substitutions
- A coach evaluation form built on PSSI license criteria: technique, tactics, physical, character
- A parent report card styled like a trading card, ready to share on WhatsApp
- Monthly fee tracking and WhatsApp broadcast templates
Status
- Interactive prototype, built in September 2026.
- The coach contributed his own evaluation criteria after seeing the report card screen.
- The production build on Next.js and Supabase is planned for Q4 2026: attendance first, then report cards.
Design decisions
- Mobile first, pitch first. Attendance for 40 kids has to take under two minutes on a phone, standing on the field.
- Report card as a player card. Parents share it, which turns an admin task into something families look forward to.
- Prototype before backend. Ten static screens were enough to validate the workflow and pricing questions before writing server code.
